"Gary Lee Price was recently presented with the prestigious Governor's Mansion Artist Award to visual art by Utah Governor Michael O. Leavitt and First Lady Jacalyn S. Leavitt.

The body of Gary Lee Price's work centers on "The Celebration of Life" with vivid images of young people who explore the wonders of life through various means of expression.  the depth and breadth of Price's bronze sculptures cover a wide range of sizes from six-inch high mantle pieces to "larger than life" monuments such as the one that greets the visitors at the NuSkin Corporate Headquarters in Provo, Utah.

Price received his formal training at the University of Utah, but says, "Sculpting has always been a part of me and has represented means for me to express my inner-most feelings since my early youth."  Gary and his wife. Lanea, were also recognized for their vision in forming The Incredible Journey Arts Foundation, a public non-profit foundation in Springville Utah, where a turn-of-the-century mercantile building is being beautifully renovated and will house classes to support and develop the latent artistic talents of young and old alike.

Price has often commented that "Art is Cool" or "Art is Magic" and whether it is from the gleeful faces of his subjects or from tomorrow's future artists who will benefit from the education provided by the Foundation, their expressions are Priceless.
