"Paul Panossian was born in California and started on his artistic path at a
remarkably young age, promising to become one of the great American masters. At
age six an elementary school teacher recognized his inherent artistic ability
and he was encouraged to seek professional painting instruction, which continued
throughout high school. Panossian graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in
Art from California State University Northridge where he had the opportunity to
study under master artist, Hans Burkhardt. Upon completing his formal education
Panossian traveled to Europe to continue his studies.
Trained in traditional art with an emphasis in oil painting, his personal
artwork is characterized by intense color, sophisticated composition, and a
painterly technique that has become widely recognized across the United States,
announcing him the next “Artist to Watch”. Perhaps best known for his timeless
depictions of his native state, Panossian’s intimacy with his immediate
surroundings has enabled him to powerfully render the California coastline and
evoke the human emotion found in the landscapes. Panossian explains that, “I
strive to communicate my impression of unique ephemeral moments through paint
and brush.” At the heart of his paintings, is his unsparing devotion to capture
the natural wonder of our world and the ever-changing moods of the land; its
color, texture, light, and space greatly kindles his desire to express the
beauty that surrounds us. What places Panossian apart from other landscape
artists and is unlike any artist, past or present, is his unique perspective to
which he paints his picture inviting one into a scene that one so seldom sees.
Panossian’s travels have been the inspiration for his latest exhibition,
“Nature’s Great American Treasures”, in which he charters new territory.
Visiting Yosemite National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park,
Panossian embraces this change in subject matter as he evolves without
compromising the unique quality that makes him so recognizable. Eager to show us
what lies ahead he takes us along on his journey, a future that promises
exciting turns as he travels to many national and international places. The next
of such journeys will feature works from his forthcoming travels to the East
Coast, works that promise to reveal his unique and exceptional talent through
his vision of yet another new territory. "
